Affirmation Power Newsletter
January 2007
Happy New Year!
I hope this finds you all healthy, happy and abundant.
January is a time of renewal and reflection. It's a time to
nurture our values and vision for the future. As I think about our opportunities and resources and set our intentions for the New Year, I feel
like there is a new feeling of hope and transformation in the air.
My main intention for 2007 is to complete the Soul Affirmation CD project. It is completely written and much of the
tracking is also complete. I was very productive last year despite several issues that took my attention away from the project. As a cultural
creative, in order to attend to my artistic endeavors, I must pay attention to my commercial ventures. I recently took on a jazz CD editing and
mixing project for Carlos Fernandez. It is now complete
and ready to be replicated. We have also played numerous music gigs with our band and duo Laditude over the year.
I have just finished writing a bridge for my song "For Today" and a few months
ago, Chris Rosser recorded a brilliant dotar part for "Omnamah Shivia." Last year Richard Shulman recorded piano parts for "I Choose Forgiveness"
and "I Come From a Place of Love." Elsbeth Van Tongeren recorded cello parts and Duncan Wickel played a fabulous violin part on " I Come From a
Place of Love." To listen to the new rough mixes, click

Our good friend and band mate Tom Shirah passed away in September 2006. Before we moved to
Asheville, Tom recorded a horn solo for "It Comes From Me." We are very fortunate to have his memory immortalized on our CD. The CD will be
dedicated to him. We miss his pure, shiny spirit daily.
We live next door to the Quest Center of Asheville. It is a non-profit holistic
education and healing center run by the Ananda Marga Yoga
Society. We have many friends in this organization and we admire the work they do. I will include a new composition on the Soul Affirmation CD called Baba Nam Kevalam. This is their mantra. Baba means "my most beloved One," Nam means "name
of" or "to identify with," and Kevalam means "only." So the meaning of the mantra is "My most Beloved is the only One." The ideation is:
"Everywhere I look, in everything I hear, feel, see, taste and smell, I perceive that one Supreme Consciousness which pervades all
things."
To all the people who have pre-purchased our CD, we truly thank you for your
patience and kind support. It is you who keep us inspired and working. If you would like to pre-buy a copy of Soul Affirmation please

Meanwhile, we've started a little Sunday Hiking Group that meets on many Sundays throughout the year. It
is very casual and we get together with friends for a simple hike in the woods. If you'd like to receive notifications and join in, please send
an email to: info@hikingasheville.com
We wish you clarity of thinking, newfound awareness, and unlimited possibilities
for the New Year.
Sincerely yours,
Ken & Amy LaDéroute

Each New Year is a fresh start, and each new day, hour, and
second is unlike the last. I live in the present moment, and by intent I have the poise and ability to become brand new at any
time.
